How to apply

You can apply to study abroad one or two terms. Your options varies depending on your current studies at Mid Sweden University.

You apply to study abroad in two steps. The first step is to apply to be nominated to study as an exchange student. If Mid Sweden University nominates you as an exchange student at one of our partner universities, you will have to fill in and send in different forms and applications to the host university. The international coordinator at your department will inform nominated students more about how to apply to the partner university.


Application

The ordinary application period for exchange studies autumn term 2012 and spring term 2013 is open between 1-15 February 2012.

Required documents are:

  1. Printed and signed online application

  2. A personal letter  -Contact data and your motivation for wanting to study abroad. Tell us about your choice of country and university and describe yourself briefly. This letter must be in English, unless you wish to study at a university where classes are taught in a Scandinavian language. Then the letter may be written in Swedish.

  3. Transcript of records – A list of all your credits at Mid Sweden University.

  4. Language proficiency – If you apply for courses in other languages than English, you must support your language skills with a proficiency test certificate.  If you apply for courses in  English, you must support your language skills with a proficiency testsuch as a TOEFL test, if the host university requires so.

  5. Other certificates – Certificates of work for the Student Union´s International Committee or as a Student Ambassador.

Acceptance

About two weeks after last day of application, you will receive a letter of nomination or a rejection by e-mail.

Please note,  Mid Sweden University only nominates the student as an exchange student to the host university. Mid Sweden University can not guarantee you admission. If you are nominated, the next step will be to send in your application to the host university. The international coordinator at your department will provide you with the application forms and other useful information regarding the host university.
