Experimental Inkjet

The research program experimental Inkjet aims at improved understanding of the physical and chemical interactions between the fluid and the substrate involved in the printing process. The focus lies on inkjet printing and the dynamics and the interaction between inkjet ink and paper media.

The heart of the research is an inkjet lab with flexible inkjet rigs and print equipment where the print conditions can be systematically varied and where the printing process can be studied in-situ under realistic printing conditions by various optical methods. The research finds applications in the fields of paper media and ink for image reproduction and fabrication of functional materials and devices.
