RiskITBig (Risks and Accountability in IT Mega Projects) The emergence of ICT mega projects is closely related to the recent approaches to implementing instances of systems for so called e-government.

Research on the performance and failures of such projects highlight the management of expectations and establishments of mutual understandings between the parties involved. Addressing risks and accountability is evidently important in IT-enabled societal change due to the fact that in all initiatives some entity is supposed to be held accountable and has to take responsibility for the citizens, not only in terms of economic success but also regarding many other objectives such as transparency and in accordance with political promises.
