Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
At our site in Jönköping we are developing computer based systems and components for the next generation of aircraft from the world-leading aircraft manufacturers. Our group is working with specification, development and verification of software for utility and mission computers, control computers, hydraulic actuators, electric motors and motor controllers.
Your future challenge
The Master’s thesis concerns theoretic and practical studies of brushless motor control. Programming in C may be necessary.
The first part of work is to design a one chip processor solution that complies with the analogue solution for a brushless 28VDC motor with speed control. The design goal shall be to develop a compact and robust solution.
In the second part, analysis shall be performed and compared to the existing analogue solution concerning;
• Available volume/ area on Printed Board Assembly
• Reliability
• Robustness
• Development cost
• Possible to adapt
Your job will include planning, specification and documentation.
Today's demands
A Master’s student or a student within the ’Civilingenjörsutbildning’ may apply for the position. It is expected good knowledge in Object Oriented design using C++. Speaking and writing in Swedish and English are required. It is expected that students from D, E, F, Y or, Z may possess this knowledge.
The Master’s thesis position is at the Saab EDS facilities in Jönköping. The position is suitable for one or two students.
