Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat. Saab in Jönköping has a wide range of products, mainly for Aerospace applications, including e.g. utility and mission computers, control computers, hydraulic actuators, electric motors and motor controllers. Most of our equipment is safety critical and must be certified according to civilian standards. These standards put demands on the design and verification processes. We are required to generate evidence that all requirements have been validated and verified. To be able to show that, we are using a tool for requirement tracing called DOORS.

Your future challenge
The bachelor’s thesis will be carried out in three steps.
The student will begin with a study of how requirements, tests and test results are traced today and how this can be enhanced in the perspective of the user interface. This will preferable be done by interviewing the users and put the result together in a specification for the interface tool.
The second step will be to implement the tool that we would like to see as a Wiki. Validation and testing of the tool will be performed.
After these steps the final result will be a validated tool and a user manual.

The bachelor’s thesis position is at Saab’s facilities in Jönköping. The position is suitable for one student. The work can be initiated between January to the beginning of June. Oral and written reporting will be required.

A bachelor’s student within the Technical program for computer science or comparable may apply for the position.
