Place of action
Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat. At our site in Jönköping we are developing computer based systems and components for the next generation of aircraft from the world-leading aircraft manufacturers. Our group is working with specification, development and verification of software for utility and mission computers, control computers, hydraulic actuators, electric motors and motor controllers.

Your future challenge
The Masters thesis will be divided into three steps:
A theoretic study of the field of technology to study different design patterns and their properties.
An implementation of a number of design patterns and study their use in a safety critical system.
Documentation of different design patterns that can be used in a safety critical application and their properties and limitations.

Your job will include planning, specification and documentation of the usage of the design patterns.
The Masters thesis position is at the Saab EDS facilities in Jönköping. The position is suitable for one or two students. The work can be initiated between the beginning of April to the beginning of June or in the beginning of August, and will cover 20 weeks in total. If the period extends over July, at least a mandatory four-week vacation will be required. Oral and written reporting will be required

Today's demands


A Masters student or a student within the ’Civilingenjörsutbildning’ may apply for the position. It is expected good knowledge in Object Oriented design using C++. Excellent skills in both speaking and writing in Swedish and English are required. It is expected that students from D, E, F, Y or, Z may possess this knowledge.
