Learning platforms - especially important if you are studying on a distance course or over the Internet.
Internet courses and distance courses, and to some extent regular campus courses, often use learning platforms. Exactly which platform, if any, your course uses will become evident from the course letter. At Mid Sweden University there are three different systems that are used:
Blackboard/WebCT - by far the most common system
Blackboard/WebCT (known just as WebCT) is the most commonly used learning platform at Mid Sweden University. WebCT can be reached via the student portal (third link under 'My services'' in the left hand menu on the starting page). Note that you must activate your user identity for the student portal and register yourself in LADOK for your Blackboard/WebCT platform to become available.
It may take several hours after you have done this before your Blackboard/WebCT course platform becomes active. If you still cannot find your platform at this stage, contact your teacher or helpdesk. When doing so you should give your course code (two letters, three numbers and either A or G, for example EN001G or DT001A) and registration code (five numbers, for example 22332) . You will find these in your course letter.
For further information about Blackboard/WebCT see helpdesk pages»
The Conference - available via the student portal
You reach the Conference via the student portal , after you had sign in, select Tools and Conference). It is also here that you find information about this system.
ITMs First Class system
First Class is used by the Department of Information technology and media (ITM). Administration of the First Class system is thus taken care of internally by the department. For further information see the following adresses:
