Passport, visa and residence permit
You may have to apply and pay for a visa or a residence permit to be allowed to study abroad as an exchange student. Please note that it is your responsibility to seek information and apply for adequate visa or a residence permit in good time before travelling abroad.

You can contact the country's embassy/consulate in Stockholm, (if there is one, otherwise in another city in Europe) for information on the country's visa regulations. In addition you must check the status of your student visa for you studies in Sweden. This is to make sure you can re-entry Sweden after completing your exchange studies abroad.
