Entry requirements, Master´s programmes
General entry requirements
This means that you must have completed a first (undergraduate) degree of at least 180 higher education credits from a Swedish Higher Education Institution or from another country or have equivalent qualifications.
Specific entry requirements

English language proficiency
For all International Master’s Programmes at Mid Sweden University you must support your proficiency in English. There are two types of proficiency in English - English course A (basic proficiency) and English course B (special proficiency). To find out what applies to the Master’s programme you want to apply for, please check the programme description »
English course A from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent (basic proficiency) can be proven by for example the following international tests:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 530 on the paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 72 on the Internet based test and not below 17 on the TWE
- IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.0
English course B from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent (special proficiency) can be proven by for example the following international tests:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 575 on the paper based test and not below 4.5 on the TWE
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 90 on the Internet based test and not below 20 on the TWE
- IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.5
