Application procedure exchange studies

The admission of exchange students is granted to qualified students recommended by their home institution. The student must fulfil the general requirements for admission for entry and the prerequisites for the chosen courses.

Students who are interested in studying at Mid Sweden University should contact the international office at their home university. They will assist the students in completing the application.

How to apply

The application is completed by filling out the online application and sending in the compulsory documents by mail or e-mail to Mid Sweden University. Please follow the instructions below:

1. Choose courses

Choose courses and fill out the attached form. Exchange students can apply to study part of a Bachelor or Master’s programme, or apply for single courses. A complete semester corresponds to the total amount of 30 credits, built up by either separate courses of 7.5–15 credits or one course of 30 credits. The university does not recommend students to choose a workload exceeding 30 credits per semester.

The courses are usually taken one after the other (consecutive scheduling) and the applicant needs to choose courses accordingly. When applying for single courses the important thing to remember is to choose courses that starts at different times during the semester so that the student do not end up with four courses that all start at the same time.

The single courses are divided into the undergraduate and the graduate level. On the undergraduate level, most courses have the labels A, B or C. A corresponds to the basic level courses, B to continuing courses and C to advanced courses.
