About us
MIUN Innovation, Mid Sweden University´s office for Innovation and Business, offers you as a student the opportunity to test the potential of your idea and develop it into a business idea. We also offer you as a teacher or researcher the opportunity to utilize your research.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to utilize your research or have a business idea! You must not have gotten very far with your thoughts; the earlier we meet, the better for you and your idea. For obvious reasons, our work is strictly confidential.
The intended purpose of MIUN Innovation is to
- Stimulate you as a students to create business ideas that derive from academic knowledge and support you in the innovation process from idea to business concept
- Stimulate you as a researcher or teacher to utilize results that derive from research and support you in the innovation process from idea to business concept
- To develop a culture within the university that makes commercializing and business developing an attractive choice for researchers and students
- To establish MIUN Innovation as an important part of the regional innovation system
Facts and funding
In the autumn of 2011 MIUN Innovation was granted funds from the EU Structural Funds, Objective 2. MIUN Innovation also received funding from the County Administrative Board in Västernorrland - Länsstyrelsen i Västernorrland, The Regional Council of Jämtland –Regionförbundet Jämtlands län, the municipality of Östersund and Sundsvall.
The build-up of an internal innovation-supporting activity, MIUN Innovation, was initiated during the autumn of 2008.
Thereafter MIUN Innovation started its activities during the spring of 2009.
