Funding for improved information management
A new project will help municipalities and other organisations improve their information management, like for instance digital information management. The project GOINFO (Good Information Management) has been granted SEK 3,1 million and it is lead by the Centre for digital information management, CEDIF, of Mid Sweden University.
– The aim is to make it easier for authorities, municipalities and other organisations in our region to establish and work with information flow in a way that also enables a rationalization of their activities, says Göran Samuelsson, project leader at CEDIF.
The focus of the project will be on creating the right conditions for organisations, both in the public and private sectors, to provide them with practical tools and methods for a good information management. The project GOINFO also results in more activities of CEDIF and in an increased competiveness of the research team with a larger number of employees.
– The knowledge that is generated in the project will also form a body of acquired knowledge for digital information management, says Göran Samuelsson.
The project will cooperate both on a regional and a national level, among other things by acting as a hub for the regional network ”Arkivlänet Västernorrland” (Information management in Västernorrland). GOINFO is also strongly connected to the priority projects e-ARD (digital information management and digital registration) initialized by the eGovernment Delegation and lead by the Public Record Office.
The project started in January 2013 and will continue for two years. The project financiers are the County Administrative Board of Västernorrland, Mid Sweden University and the Municipality of Härnösand.
