Christmas markets
On December 2 Christmas markets will be held in Sundsvall city centre from 12.00-18.oo, singing, dancing, handicrafts, lottery and much more will be offered.
Also visit Norra berget for a subtle evening of story telling in front of the fireplace at Röklandsgården on December 6 between 19.00-21.00 (Swedish).
A traditional Christmas market is held on Norra Berget (North hill) in Sundsvall on Saturday December 8 and Sunday December 9. You can buy everything from handicrafts to Swedish homemade pastries.
Christmas Café and Lucia celebrations
Welcome to Christmas opening at Café Svartvik between December 8 and December 9 (11:00 to 15:00)
Visitors can buy handicrafts both knitted, sewn, jewelry, paintings and books etc. The café offers traditional Swedish rice pudding, ham sandwiches and homemade cakes.
On December 13 at 18.00 a traditional Lucia celebration will take place in GA Kyrkan (GA church in the middle of Sundsvall city).
Östersund
Christmas markets
Enjoy a traditional Christmas Fair in Jamtl’s old city quarters. The Christmas fair will consist of interesting activities for schools, tourists, associations and companies where you will be able to buy everything from handicrafts and food from around the county. Welcome to the Christmas fair Saturday December 8 – Sunday December 9 between 11.00-17.00 in Östersund.
Winterfestival
“Darkness meets light and coldness meets warmth” is the theme of the festival which will be running for ten days, January 27th till February 5th, 2013. The Winter Festival is often called ‘the Festival of Light’. For 10 winter days and nights, Östersund will be filled with fascinating light installations, spectacular sporting events, and a wide variety of culture and entertainment. The Winter City Östersund offers contrast, and that’s exactly what visitors will experience during the festivities. The festival consists of nearly 100 activities, both large and small, where culture and entertainment is mixed with light shows, sports, nightlife and cuisine.

Härnösand
Christmas markets
Enjoy a traditional Christmas market in Härnösand on Sunday December 2 between 12.00-16.00 where you will be able to buy handicrafts, Christmas decorations and pastries. There will be fireworks at Mellanholmen, Lucia candidates will appear on Nordeatrappan and there will be a Christmas show at the theatre between 16.30-18.00.
Welcome to Murberget - Västernorrlands County Museum where history is mixed with modern contemporary art, handicrafts, film and music. There will be a Christmas market at Murberget Sunday December 16th between 12.00-15.00. The Christmas Market provides an excellent opportunity to shop groceries for Christmas dinner, home decorations or gifts for loved ones.
