Horseback riding at Västanå

Enjoy horseback riding on Icelandic horses in the beautiful area of Västanåfallet. Tours of two hours or more that can be combined with "fika" and food.

 

Härnösands City Festival

Between Friday 19 July to Saturday 20 July the Härnösand City festival is running at Mellanholmen. The festival will have many performances by popular artists. Also this year  Härnösands City Golf competition is arrangend along with the town festival.

Celebrate a traditional Swedish Midsummer!  

When: 21 June

Where: Murberget Härnösand

On 21 June there will be Swedish midsummer celebrations at Murberget in Härnösand. It is one of the most important holidays of the year in Sweden. Here you can participate in raising and dancing around a maypole (majstång or midsommarstång) and listen to traditional music and some even wear traditional folk costumes.


Broöppning - Bridge opening!

The Music Association Härnta stage will arrange this years as one-day festival the Bridge opening Saturday 13 July!
Deportees and Loney Dear will peform along with other artists.

Celebrate the Swedish National Day!

Where: Big Square Sundsvall

6 June is Sweden’s National Day and is a public holiday. Approximately 20,000 visitors join the celebration in Sundsvall city centre each year. Bring a flag and come celebrate with us on 6 June!

Sundsvall’s Gatufest

When: 4-7 July

Where: town center of Sundsvall

Sundsvall Gatufest established in 1987 and is one of Sweden's top three festivals in terms of visitor numbers. During the first week of July, about 180 000 people will visit Sundsvall Gatufest which makes it one of the largest events of its kind in Sweden. With an area of over 30,000 square meters in center of Sundsvall, the festival is unique to both scale, surface and width of entertainment.

 

Classic Car Festival 2013

The classic car festival is held on the 13  July and starts with an opening ceremony of the Classic Lady. Bring your camera and came down at 10:00 in Sundsvall big square and cheer for your favorite for the title “Sundsvall Classic Lady 2013”.

The classic cars must be over 30 years old and a cruising will run between 20:00-01:00 at night.

Drakfestivalen (The Dragon Festival)

Just like last year, you can experience Sundsvall Pride during Kite Festival on 7-11 August. The Kite competitions will be held on Selångersån in Sundsvall, come cheer for your favorite kite team!

Celebrate the Swedish National Day!

Where: Jamtli

Never have Jamtli had such a large audience during the National Day of 2012. Full 7700 visitor smiled in the sun, participated in sports accolades, listened to performances on the main stage Jamtli or tested at one of 43 participating clubs activities! Golf, boating, boules, sword and more! National Day is a day when Östersund municipality associations and orgnisationer have a free opportunity to show themselves, recruit members, and network with others. Midsummer at Jamtli

St Olavs relay

Join the Nordic region's largest long-distance realy race, between Östersund and Trondheim. The race consists of four daily stages over approx. 33 mil, most of the race is run on paved road. The race starts in Östersund, 26 June at Jämtkraft Arena and finish in Trondheim, 29 June.

 

Expo Norr

When: 27- 30 June

Where: the Z-arena/ the Curling arena

A four day trade fair where you will find profusion of things, from scooters to utility vehicles to kitchen knifes and food.  It is the oldest fair in Sweden, starting in 1950.

 

Storsjöyran Festival incl. Clubland

When: 24-27 July

Where: Town center of Östersund

The festival Storsjöyran started 1983 and is held in the town center of Östersund. The festival was started in honor of the ancient can-do spirit of the people of Jämtland and to show the rest of Sweden that although this region is sparsely populated its people has the zest, courage and knowledge to create a festival of international size and standard. This is also the time and place to celebrate the Republic of Jamtland when the President of Jamtland at precisely 00.00 on Saturday at the town square to deliver his annual speech of freedom, humanity and solidarity.

Tour of Jämtland

When: 7-10 August

Where: Östersund

Tour of Jämtland is cycling competition that unites and connects exercisers and elite, Jämtland and Trøndelag, fjords and mountains to a big party for a week in August each year. In collaboration with national and international partners to Tour of Jämtland clearly contain links to world leaders in research and public debate about the environmental and health while visitors and residents of the regions to discover the festival on foot and on two wheels.
