Muhammad Imran

About

Imran has background education in Electrical engineering with current focus on camera technology and hardware processing platform to perform research in the area real-time video processing systems. The application area is the visual sensor networks, in which smart cameras in the context of wireless sensor networks to acquire visual data, process the data at the sensor node to extract essential information prior to wireless communication. The focus of Imran’s research is on investigation and development of strategies for low-energy and programmable architectures of wireless smart cameras.

Imran received his Master in Electrical Engineering from Linköping University, Sweden in 2007 and PhD in Electronics Design from Mid Sweden University, Sweden in 2013.

Areas of interest

· Investigation of energy efficient and reconfigurable architectures for wireless Smart Camera Node.

· Vision tasks partitioning on HW/SW platforms and analyzing effect in moving functionality from one platform to other.

· Light weight image and video coding for resource constrained platforms.
