For online meetings and lectures

In many courses this e-meeting program is used for communication between teachers and students. In an e-meeting both audio and video communication are used, and the teacher can also display PowerPoint images etc.

Mid Sweden University and several other Swedish universities and colleges use the SUNET-service for e-meetings based on Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro, henceforth referred to as Adobe Connect.

What you need to attend a meeting

Adobe Connect allows you to work in your normal browser. You need to have a broadband Internet connection and a flash client installed. Typically you will be invited to a meeting by being given a link to click on, that may look like this: https://connect.sunet.se/MIUN-dinkurs. You will probably receive the link in your LMS or by e-mail. If you are going to attend a meeting it is recommended that you use a headset. If you want to be visible in the meeting, you should use a web cam.

The room is staffed:
Monday - Friday 8:45 to 10:15
Monday - Thursday 12:45 to 16:30
Mondays 18:00 to 20:00

Meeting rooms in SUNET Adobe Connect can only be created by teachers. For students who need to have their own meetings Mid Sweden University has three open meeting rooms:http://connect.sunet.se/miun-cafe1

These rooms can be used when they are available, on a first come, first served basis. They cannot be booked in advance. Material that is placed in the rooms is cleared regularly.
