SIIS (Sustainable Information and Information System) is a collaboration between ValIT, Criinfo and  CEDIF

The multidisciplinary research team SIIS includes researchers in Informatics, Archival Science and Industrial Economy and is located in Sundsvall, Östersund and Härnösand.

SIIS is an abbreviation Sustainable Information and Information Systems, which is about sustainability in relation to information (including both information technologie, information systems and archives science) and information systems (also related to information technologies as well as information systems and archives science). In this context, we recognize that sustainability is a multifaceted concept that can have a number of different meanings in relation to information and information systems.

Without going into detail on the concept of sustainability, it is still possible, on an overall level, to assume the definition of sustainable development as stated by the Brundtland Commission (Our Common Future, 1987): “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.
