Here we can offer you as teacher some basic guidance for course development based on the different phases in course development: planning, implementation, assessment and examination.
When you want to develop a new or existing course the first step is to think about what the aim of the course should be. What goals are there? What are the students supposed to learn? What knowledge do you want to convey to them and what new skills should the students have learnt after the course? When you have established the goal or goals you need to find out how you as a teacher can shape the content of the course for the students to reach the goal. One important step is to formulate clear learning goals that can work as starting points for the content of the course.
When you want to develop a new or existing course it is important that the students receive correct, clear and the right amount of information about the learning goals for the course, its content and forms of assessment.
Examination and different forms of assessment drives learning, that is feedback and examination has good potential to stimulera students learning. The form of assessment should therefore be enjoyable and a receit on what the student has learnt.
