Matthias Fuchs

Bakgrund

Sedan 2008 är italienaren och företagsekonomen Matthias Fuchs professor vid Etour. Tidigare var han chef för e-turism Kompetenscentrum Österrike (ECCA) där han också handlett fyra storskaliga forskningsprojekt inom bland annat mobila informationssystem, online-auktioner, teknikpåverkan och spridning samt e-learning. Fram till maj 2010 var Matthias vetenskaplig handledare vid ECCA.

Matthias står som författare eller medförfattare till mer än 180 vetenskapliga publikationer, och har tilldelats priset The Austrian State sponsored Rudolf-Sallinger Research Price. 2003 blev han även nominerad till "Eminent Scientist of the Year" av The World Scientist Forum and the International Research Promotion Council (IRPC).

Han är medlem i The International Centre for Research and Education in Tourism (ICRET), The International federation for IT and Travel and Tourism (IFITT), The Royal Academic Council of Eminent Scientists, Erich Gutenberg Arbeitsgemeinschaft Köln e.V., Association International d´Experts Scientifiques du Tourisme (AIEST), Strategic Management Society (SMS), Internationella Data Envelopment Analysis Society (iDEAs), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Tourismuswissenschaft (DGT) och Tourism Education Futures Initiative (TEFI). Matthias är ledamot i redaktionsrådet tidskrifterna Information Technology & Tourism, Tourism Analysis and Annals of Tourism Research.
