English language proficiency

Applicants for all International programmes at Mid Sweden University must prove proficiency in English.

At Mid Sweden University we require that applicants prove either:

  • English course A/English 5, or

  • English course B/English 6

To find out what applies to the programme you want to apply for, go to international programmes

English course A/English 5 from the Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent can be supported by for example the following international tests:

  • TOEFL with a minimum score of 530 on the paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE

  • TOEFL with a minimum score of 72 on the Internet based test and not below 17 on the TWE

  • IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.0

English course B/English 6  from the Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent can be supported by for example the following international tests:

  • TOEFL with a minimum score of 575 on the paper based test and not below 4.5 on the TWE

  • TOEFL with a minimum score of 90 on the Internet based test and not below 20 on the TWE

  • IELTS Academic Training with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score on the specific parts of at least 5.5

Exemptions from submitting formal tests based on university studies

Some students may be exempt from submitting formal test evidence to prove proficiency in English language. For information, see universityadmissions.se
