Mid Sweden University and Research Centre STC@MIUN has been profiled as a Knowledge Environment. This means that the Foundation for a decade will give commitment and money to support research within STC.
-For STC it is great because it allows us to better shape our research direction and secure a stable funding for the future, says Mattias O'Nils program director at STC.
For Mid Sweden University and the STC to become a Knowledge Environment means that project applications and monitoring of projects within the STC will now be reviewed and decided on the University of the faculty board and Vice- Chancellor.
-We get the opportunity to strategically plan the project in the space provided by the Knowledge Foundation, and reduce the time researchers spend on writing applications that do not go through, says Mattias O'Nils program director at STC.
KK-environmental program is the Foundation's efforts to develop research profiling and co-production of Sweden's new universities and colleges. Mid Sweden University is one of three universities that have gone through a qualification process to become a Knowledge Environment. As well as STC also includes research center FSCN in Knowledge Environment. A certification that the Knowledge Environment represents a ten-year effort by the Knowledge Foundation. Overall, the Foundation allocated SEK 1.5 billion for the program.
