"Emotion and food"

Together with colleagues from Spain (Granada University), this project aims to investigate the emotional reactions evoked by food stimuli and by the confrontation with pictures of human bodies in young women, and relate these reactions to their eating attitudes and habits, and to their body image. Verbal evaluations, physiological changes and behavioural measures will be employed.

The ultimate goal is that the knowledge about the affective/motivational mechanisms underlying these distorted perceptions might be useful for the prevention of eating disorders.

Funding from “Vetenskapsrådet” has been solicited in order to maximize the scope of the project.
