Academic Ceremonies

The academic ceremony at Mid Sweden University is held in early October each year, and alternates between Mid Sweden University's campuses . It is a promotions- and installation ceremony with subsequent banquet .

The feast has three parts: promotion of honorary doctors and doctors, installation of professors and adjunct professors and awarding of prizes. At the ceremony, the promoters of the two faculties, the human sciences and the natural sciences, technology and media, according to a special rite conferring its honorary doctors for their services for the region, or the university, and its newly examined doctors. It takes place after a solemn procession into the ceremony hall, then promovendi and instrumental Allandi, officiants and specially invited for music and led by marshals with flags and banners take their places on the stage. At promotions- and installation Feast attention then all honorary doctorates, doctors, professors and adjunct professors with a special ritual. At ceremonies occur both cannon salutes and fanfares, and music are recurring elements of this ceremonial feast.

For promotions- and installation festival invited all interested parties to participate along with the party objects and their relatives. A special invitation is addressed to representatives of business, other universities and official Sweden, most especially to the representatives of the two counties, Jämtland and Västernorrland, which is Mittuniversitetets region. After promotions- and installation festival is taking a banquet for specially invited, and after dinner with speeches and entertainment ending party with dancing and generally mingle.
