Sensible Things that Communicate, STC, develops sensor-based systems and services in electronics and computer science with a focus on industrial IT and digital services. STC is a part KK-Environment funded by the Knowledge Foundation. STC works closely to the research FSCN at Mid Sweden University.

STC Research Centre operates in a region with a strong forest-based industry and a significant IT operations. The research keeps a high international standard, but also focus on issues that meet local and regional interests.
 
STC has a long-term partnership with the Knowledge Foundation on the basis of the strategic vision through research in materials technology and information technology contribute to a industrial transformation. A transformation fueled by a need for new products and business in the forestry industry and an opportunity for growth is through information technology. By linking these two industries, we create an industrial ecosystem with very exciting prospects, regionally and nationally, where the interaction with the innovation environments such as Fiber Optic Valley is important.

Talare Science & Innovation Day 2015

October 13 it is time for the Research and Innovation Conference Science & Innovation Day in Sundsvall. It is a unique venue for industry and researchers to meet to exchange knowledge and ideas. A great opportunity for building new cooperation’s and develop your business. The program is getting ready and our three keynote speakers are:

Magnus Melander is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience. He helps companies to improve their business by using modern technology such as IoT. In his presentation he will share his experience and tell us more about the future of IoT and the nice opportunities there is for the field in Sweden.

Niklas von Weymarn is the VP on Metsä Fibre and he asks the question - Is it time for the pulp mills to jump on to the bio-economic boom? He will present the future bio refineries located in Äänekoski, Finland.

Ari Riabacke PhD in risk and decision analysis and with roots from Mid Sweden University will end the day. Ari is an acclaimed speaker who based his research on decision making will talk about how we make decisions and how we can make it better
