Background

Ph D, Senior Professor of Chemical Engineering with focus on Mechanical Pulp Technology
Myat Hhtun received his Master's Ph D and Docent degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm.
Joinded STFI (now Innventia) and worked there until 1996. Came to Mid Sweden University, Sundsvall 1996.

Founded FSCN - Fibre Science and Communication Network with the support of KK-foundation and the Swedish Forest Industry in 1999. Worked as the Director of the Centre until 2010.

Awarded the SPCI medal in 2009.

Current research

Presently working as senior professor for the Faculty to promote advanced studies at the university. Research interests concern paper physics, mechanical pulping, especially the relationship between the ionic character of wood and its swelling potentials.
