Application and admission process for free movers

You apply to Mid Sweden University through the national online application service www.universityadmissions.se. There is no paper version of the application; it has to be filled out online.

Step-by-Step Process to Apply

1. Select your programme of interest

The most important step of the admissions process is choosing the degree programme that is right for you. You will find available programmes at International programmes

2. Review the entry requirements and key dates.

Read the sections on entry requirements and key dates, and then carefully review the specific entry requirements for your programme(s) of interest. Programme specific entry requirements are found at International programmes

  • Please note that if a deadline falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), applications will be accepted the following Monday.

3. Assemble your supporting documents regarding eligibility

In order to support your eligibility, you must provide University Admissions in Sweden with certified copies of your previous study information, as well as to support your English proficiency. Please go to documentation requirements  

4. EU/EEA/Swiss applicants need to submit documents regarding fee exempt status

If you have citizenship in a European Union (EU) a European Economic Area (EEA) country-, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application or tuition fees. In order to prove citizenship status you must submit the correct documentation. Please go to universityadmissions.se for further information.

5. Complete the online application and submit supporting documents

Use the national online admissions site - UniversityAdmissions.se - to complete the application. Before you apply you must create a user account. This user account serves as a link between your application and your personal data.

6. Follow your admission status

Students will receive two Notification of Selection Results from University Admissions, one after each of the two selection rounds. The results of these selection rounds will be presented in your Notifications.

7. Reply to your offer

If you see the term Admitted after the title of your study programme or course, congratulations! This means that you have been offered a place in the course or study programme.

After the first selection you will need to reply and accept the offer to hold your place (a reply is not required after the second selection). This is done by logging in to 'My Pages" at universityadmission.se and following the instructions for Notification of Selection Results.

8. Application for deferment

You can apply for deferment due to circumstances you are not able to influence. The circumstances must generally have occurred after you signed up for your education. Deferment from your studies may not exceed 18 months unless there are exceptional reasons for a prolongation of the deferment requested.

9. Payment of tuition fees (for admitted applicants with citizenship outside of the EU/EEA/Switzerland)

When you have accepted your offer, you will receive a second Notification of Selection Results. In this Notification, you will be informed about the tuition fee invoice that you will receive from Mid Sweden University.
