ValIT (Value Creation with IT) studies processes and methods for how information technology can be, and is, used to create value. In addition, the group focuses on how different and sometimes contradictory values are written into in the information technologies, how values are translated, staged, and implemented in various IT-related processes, and what these values are and could be.
These values are also analyzed in terms of how they relate to various forms of sustainability efforts. ValIT started in the summer of 2010 as a collaboration between Informatics and Industrial Economy; a quite new research collaboration.
