"Treatment of Burnout/Fatigue problems in primary care settings"

Burn-out and fatigue are ailments heavily represented in the sick leave figures and also at primary care settings. Effective treatment are needed but not one single controlled study has to date been published.

This project, comprising 60 patients, is done in collaboration with Stockholm County Council, Karolinska Institute and the Department of Psychology at MIUN. Data on comparison between different treatment modalities (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness based therapy and Yoga) are compared to each other and to a non-afflicted control group. One article submitted and two in the pipeline. Several conference papers and reports have been published.

Experiences from this project are carried forward in a number of new projects together with the county councils of Västernorrland and Jämtland. New technologies for learning and treatment are developed and this project also involves the potential to subsequently develop new lifestyle change programs in regions with huge geographical dispersion.
