"Psychological Problem at Primary Care Centers"
Long waiting lists (sometimes over a year) are not uncommon for patients seeking help for different psychological problems such as dizziness, anxiety problems depression, and life-style change motivated problems. As shown by us (2010) psychological problems are common in the primary care population, mounting up to over 30% of visits.
In this project Brief Intervention in combination with web-based treatment programs will be delivered to all patients seeking help at selected primary care settings. Data are gathered through medical records and online sampling of both treatment relevant information and theoretical connotations sampled through web-based experimental conditions. A pilot study is being conducted during autumn 2013.
The project is done in collaboration with the county council of Västernorrland. The aim is, besides helping people suffering, to make treatment more time efficient thereby shorten waiting times.
