At the first decision meeting of the EU program Interreg Sweden-Norway, STC was granted funding for a research project within the area “innovative environments”. The Steering Committee granted funds to a total of eight different projects and Mid Sweden University is involved in three projects.
The research project is called “Innovation oriented research and education in sensor technology” (Innovationsinriktad forskning och utbildning inom sensorteknologi) and is a cooperation between Mid Sweden University and HiST (Sør-Trøndelag University College). The purpose is to increase collaboration between enterprises and research within the area of applied sensor technology. The project aim to small and medium-sized enterprises who otherwise got small opportunities to conduct advanced research on their own. In this three year project there are 20 participating partner companies from Sweden and Norway and the total budget is 1 746 354 EUR. Project leader is Magnus Engholm from STC Research Centre.
