Mid Sweden University is celebrating 10 years as a university in 2015. On the occasion of the Jubilee introduces the appointment of the Alumnus of the year for alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their career or done something else that is worth paying attention to. 

Among Mid Sweden University’s former students we select one man and one woman each year to the Alumnus of the Year.

The announcement of the winners takes place in conjunction with the University's academic celebration on October 8.

All with a link to Mid Sweden University such as staff, students, student unions and university alumni have the opportunity to nominate people to the Alumnus of the Year.

Criteria

In order to be designated as an Alumnus of the Year, the person in question

• have completed at least 60 credits (previously 40 credits), equivalent to one year of full-time study at Mid Sweden University or its predecessors
• have a successful career after completing their studies
• willing to be an ambassador for Mid Sweden University and a role model for current and future students
• have a personal approach in their profession, which is in line with the Mid Sweden University's core values; Proximity, Benefits and Curiosity

The decision on who will receive the award will be made by the Principal after a proposal by a review panel composed as follows: Prorector (Chairman), head of Communications, head of external relations, representative of student unions. The secretary of the panel is alumni coordinator.

Alumnus of the Year will receive a certificate and can also be offered the opportunity to share their experiences at the university. The two designated alumni are also invited to attend the university's annual academic celebration.
