International Master's Programme in Industrial Design - Design for All, 120 Credits
The Master's Programme in Design for All is looking for students who want to be involved in the creative development of humanistic and sustainable design solutions. We addressing you who are curious and want to develop our environment based on high ethical and aesthetic aspirations. You will learn to work with innovative design of products, environments, systems and services from a Design for All perspective.
Design for All is a vision of a world where all people can participate and experience a high quality of life. We see that a big asset that each person is unique. In our master's programme in Design for All, we take these differences as starting point and have developed methods, which take human diversity into account throughout the design process. These methods have proven to be very effective in developing innovative and sustainable design solutions.
As a student in Design for All, you become part of a programme in which we emphasise on:
Creativity and Problem Solving Methodologies
Throughout the design process, we apply advanced methods to understand the essence of the problem and define its structure. We examine the relevant systems and different ways to include external knowledge.
User-Centred Design for All Process
When we develop new solutions for human well-being, we always question and analyse existing solutions based on the needs of the most demanding user groups. We involve the target groups in a deliberate manner to secure the facts at every step of the design process. We also have a research lab where you can examine the mental and physical reactions to the experience of different design solutions.
Sustainability Impact.
The programme puts special emphasis on the long-term environmental, social and economic impact of different design solutions. The goal is to reach and implement lifecycle ethics while at the same time taking diversity, fairness, democracy and quality of life issues into account.
Artistic Development
During your education you will be able to develop your artistic capabilities through profound studies in aesthetics, form and light.
Multidisciplinary and International Orientation
We work closely with other disciplines, Design for All networks, organizations, industries, institutions and authorities locally, nationally and internationally.
Entry requirements
Degree of Bachelor in Industrial Design, or Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering, of at least 180 Credits, or equivalent, with at least 60 Credits (60 ECTS) in Industrial Design. Successful completion of the work sample.
English course 5/English course A from Swedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) or the equivalent.
Selection
The selection process from those who meet the entry requirements is based on the results of the work samples and home assignment.

Masterexamen med huvudområdet industridesign, translated into Degree of Master of Arts (120 credits) with a major in Industrial Design.
After the program
Specialists in this field are unique and demanded, which means you have great chances to jobs in larger companies, design agencies or as a teacher. You will also have the knowledge to run or participate in multidisciplinary research and development projects in the area.
