It is possible to apply to many of the international programmes offered by Mid Sweden University also after the application deadline has passed. Please note that applying late and the late arrival of study documents can jeopardise your chances of being accepted and obtaining a Swedish residence permit.
What is a late application?
A late application is any application submitted after the application deadline. If an application is submitted on time but the required study documents that support the application do not arrive until after the deadline for the supporting documents for eligibility, that application will also be considered late. Late application means late admission notification
The regular applications submitted on time will be processed first and the late applications afterwards. This means that if you send in a late application, all the applicants who have sent in their application on time will be given admission before you. As the places in programmes are limited, this could possibly mean that you will not be accepted.
Any vacancies in a programme will be offered to "late applicants" after the second selection round. This means that any potential admission will reach the late applicant rather late.
About applying late if you need a visa
It does take some time to obtain a visa and before you can apply, you must have been accepted for studies in Sweden. As the process of obtaining a visa may well jeopardise your chances of arriving in time before the course starts, we do not recommend that non-EU/EEA residents submit late applications. Instead, they are welcome to apply the following term.
