"When equality turns into dominance: Decision making in small groups"
Our research among voluntary associations has revealed several dilemmas, forming crucial points where a choice can be made between more or less democratic decisions.
In this project, regarding decision making in small group, competitiveness as a goal for the task was manipulated. Content analysis of the group dialogue showed the existence of stereotypic reasoning about men and women in both the competitive and non-competitive conditions, but of a more “agentic” kind in the competitive condition and a more “communal” kind in the non-competitive condition.
Peer-reviewed papers are submitted and more are on their way.
