On Tuesday, September 15 2015, the management for the research funding Knowledge Foundation visited Mid Sweden University. The Knowledge Foundation had chosen to hold its board meeting at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall and in connection with the meeting they took the opportunity to visit our research centres STC and FSCN to get a more detailed presentation of the research conducted.
In 2011 Mid Sweden University was granted to become a so-called "KK-miljö" by Knowledge Foundation. Our two research centres STC and FSCN are part of the "KK-miljö", called Transformative Technologies. It is a long-term initiative that aims to create a more profiled research in co-production with the industry. Mid Sweden University operates in a region of great forest industries that demand innovation and efficiency for increased profitability and growth. By combining Mid Sweden University´s two research fields in fibres and ICT we create new opportunities for the region's industries to improve and renew working methods and products.
