5th Nov 2008: “Conformity culture in Corporate Academia”, a lecture at the Östersund Campus by Professor Philomena Essed, Critical Race, Gender and Leadership Studies, Antioch University, USA. A seminar was arranged in the afternoon in which texts written by the Swedish participants in the CG project were discussed.

 

20th May 2008: “Feminists re-theorizing Diaspora”, an open lecture at the Östersund Campus given by Tina Campt, Associate Professor of Women’s Studies, History and German at Duke University. A text seminar “Listening to the Image: Gender, Photography and the Practice of Diaspora”

 

9th April 2008: “The image of military women in American films from Second World War through the Cold War”, a lecture at the Härnösand Campus by Ruth McLelland-Nugent , professor in History from Augusta State University – Women’s History Class of ’08.

 

15th October 2007: a workshop at the Östersund Campus on the theme of “The academic author and life writing. Using memory work to explore intersecting power relations”. Elisabeth Hoon, visiting PhD student from Australia, and Mona Livholts.

 

2nd October 2007: “Corpus queer: Bodies in resistance” and ”Exploring queer. Femininity: femmes of power project”: Theory Day at the Östersund Campus with open lectures given by Del La Grace Volcano and Ulrika Dahl.

 

13th September 2007: “Gender, race and class”: Open lecture, seminar and workshop at the Östersund Campus with Diana Mulinari on intersectional research analyses.

 

22nd to 23rd Feb 2007: “Men, ageing and power: Can men’s ageing challenge patriarchy?” a lecture given on the Gender Marathon Days by Jeff Hearn, professor of Masculinity, Culture and Society, Linköping University, and the Swedish School of Economics, Helsinki.
