The Swedish government has commissioned DEMICOM to evaluate the use of the special funds to parties for the information campaign for the European Parliament elections and the national general elections of 2014. The project analyzed how the parties used the funds, which are groups of voters reached by the information efforts as well as efforts affected recipients to increasingly vote or otherwise engage in politics.

The Government believes that a high and equal participation in elections is important. To ensure that information on the general elections reaches out to different groups in society has 45 million swedish crowns allocated as special funding to parties for the information campaign for the European Parliament elections and the national general elections of 2014. These funds open up more opportunities to reach out to different groups where turnout is traditionally lower than among voters in general. EUR 44 million has been distributed to the parties.

The mission will be reported to the Government Offices (Ministry of Justice) on 31 March 2015.
