From Stockholm to Sundsvall by Car

Take E4 north from Stockholm to Sundsvall. First Hotel Strand is located right off the E4 on the left hand side. (For GPS directions, see address above).

From Stockholm Airport (Arlanda) to Sundsvall by Train

Once you arrive at Arlanda airport, you can make your way to Arlanda Central Station on foot by simply following the signs and check the displays for information about your train connection.

From Monday to Friday, trains to Sundsvall leave hourly between 6:41 and 19:41.

Most connections are direct trips that take 3 hours and 20 minutes; connections requiring a transfer in Gävle take approx. 30 minutes longer.

Train tickets can be purchased directly at the station or you booked in advance on www.sj.se, usually with a significant discount.

From Sundsvall Central Station to First Hotel Strand

First Hotel Strand is within walking distance (approx. 400m) from Sundsvall Central Station. Exit the station building and take the side walk to follow the road to the left until you will reach an underpass for pedestrians.

On the other side of the underpass, keep to the right and follow the walk way through a second tunnel. After the tunnel, you can either keep left and take the stairs up to Strandgatan, from which you can continue straight on to find the hotel on your left hand side (Strandgatan10). Alternatively, if you would rather avoid the stairs, after the tunnel keep straight on for approximately 50 meters and then take a left onto Strandgatan. You will find the hotel on your left after another 100 meters.

From Midlanda Airport, Timrå to First Hotel Strand

If you are flying directly to Sundsvall, you will be landing at Midlanda Airport in Timrå, approx. 20 km outside of Sundsvall. The most convenient way to get to your accommodation in Sundsvall is by taxi. We are providing a list of taxi companies for your convenience, but no endorsement is implied.
