Challenging Gender’s themes present interesting analytical challenges. The main purpose of the arena for reflection and theoretical development is to produce intellectual coherence to enable synergy between the themes.

We want to produce new knowledge about how language use and conceptual practices enable and shape analyses of gender in research, to develop intersectional analyses in gender studies and contribute to more complex and reflexive gender theory, to challenge and transform simplified dualistic views of ”sex” as biologically determined and ”gender” as socially constructed, and to find useful ways to challenge and renew traditional and still hegemonic forms of knowledge production, analysis, thinking and academic writing.
