Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do

1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.

Please note:
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.

2. Read through the current course syllabus
In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.

3. Register for the course
You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. You do this in the Student Portal by clicking on the link “My Studies”, and then “Register on course”. You can register no earlier than two working days before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course.

Course information
This course, as other courses within the Master program in Emotion Psychology, is a distant learning course (with one compulsory meeting on campus in Östersund, Sweden – see below). Active participation is required in the course room at the university’s learning platform. This platform is the primary communication tool used for students and teachers, and students will find all information needed to complete the course in the course room on the platform. Use the student e-mail you are given in the communication with the teacher (before you are given this e-mail address you can use another e-mail address).

You need to register on the learning platform Moodle (in case that doesn’t work, you should contact helpdesk@miun.se – not the teacher). On the platform you should read the syllabus and the study guide carefully! For most questions the answers could be found in the Study guide or elsewhere on the learning platform.

This course is part of the Master Program in Emotion Psychology. For each course in the program one compulsory meeting day is planned from the 28th of March to the 31st of March. Please note that those are entire days and that it is your responsibility to come on time to campus. If you travel from far you may need to travel the day before the meeting. For the present course - PS061A Emotion and Health - the meeting day is the 31th of March.

Registration on the study platform will open two days before course start. Registration and participation online are mandatory. Students who do not show active participation online will be unregistered from the course at the end of the second course week.
