Research Group: Realistic 3D

The Realistic 3D research group focused on multi-dimensional signal processing and imaging, and our research topics include 3D video, plenoptic imaging, visual quality assessment and more. The research implies understanding and investigating different topics employing Image Processing, Computer Vision, Optics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, GPU programming, Visualization, and more. The research is often carried out in close collaboration with industrial partners.

As a Master by Research you are a member of our research group with close contact to all members and topics. You get a detailed overview of our research area and, together with your supervisor, will choose your own specialization. While you mostly will work independently, you have access to all the expertise and equipment in the group. Furthermore we provide weekly supervision meetings to ensure that you are comfortable with the programme and your own progress. . Short term stays at industrial partners may be part of your individual schedule if your selected specialization is requested within an ungoing research project.

We are looking for highly motivated, independent and responsible students. You should have strong knowledge in scientific programming, e.g. Matlab, C/C++, OpenGL, or OpenCV, and one of the following areas: signal/image processing, computer graphics, or computer vision. These skills are essential for our work and you will be provided with advanced courses to deepen your knowledge in these topics. Experience from 3D related work or image/video processing is beneficial but not required.
