Hello!
A warm welcome to the course Psychology MA, Emotion and Work, 7.5 credits and as a student at Mid Sweden University.
Very welcome to the course. My name is Ulrika Danielsson, and I am the course leader. The aim of the course is to provide deeper understanding of the role emotions play at work for example emotional competence and well-being.

The course begins with a mini conference at campus, Saturday 11/11 2017 (all day) about the role of emotions in different contexts, with lectures of invited researchers in the area. The course continues with a session Tuesday 14/11 2017 (morning until noon). The session the 14/11 is an occasion that is mandatory, so You must attend at campus in Östersund.

Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule www.miun.se/schemasok. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.
Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do
1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.
Please note:
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.
2. Read through the current course syllabus
In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.
3. Register for the course
You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. You do this in the Student Portal by clicking on the link “My Studies”, and then “Register on course”. You can register no earlier than two working days before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course.
Course information
The course then continues by use of web-seminars, late afternoons 21/11, 28/11, 12/12, to which the students are expected to prepare contributions. In case there are enough students on campus, seminars will also take place on campus. After Christmas, the students are to carry out a somewhat bigger project, which is to be presented at the last seminar. All activities are mandatory.
Students without activity (i.e., have not participated in mandatory sessions and tasks) in the beginning of the course (13/11 – 26/11) will be excluded from the course Monday 27/11. If You realize that You will be unable to complete the course, please deregister as soon as possible, so that other students may be offered to take the course.

If You want to start reading early I suggest that You begin with the book ”Emotions in the workplace” av Lord G.R , Klimoski, J R. & Kanfer, R. (ed) .
