Hello!
A warm welcome to the course Sport Science BA (A), Science and Practice in Team Sports, 7,5 credits and as a student at Mid Sweden University.
We hope that you will enjoy your time at Mid Sweden University. The course aims to provide both practical and theoretical knowledge of the selected sports (football, basketball, volleyball, handball, ice hockey and floorball).

The course starts in week 36 and finishes in week 45 and is a campus-based course, which means that teaching and exams take place on the campus. The course runs at half speed. We start on Monday 4/9 at 10:15 with an obligatory meeting in the D building where we will explain the course and have a lecture. Other obligatory components and the schedule can be found on MIUNs website (code IV058G).

Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule www.miun.se/schemasok. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.
Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do
1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.
Please note:
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.
2. Read through the current course syllabus
In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.
3. Register for the course
You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. You do this in the Student Portal by clicking on the link “My Studies”, and then “Register on course”. You can register no earlier than two working days before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course.
Course information
The course focuses on the use of team sports to increase participation and physical activity levels, as well as to improve coaching and motivational strategies within the selected sports.
NB. The course is delivered in English.
There are two components to the exam. One is a practical exam regarding basic skills and leadership within team sports, as well as basic physical tests. The other includes theoretical components, such as a written report, verbal presentation and written exam. These exams are obligatory.
We would like you to obtain the course literature in good time prior to the start of the course. The obligatory literature for the course is:
