Smart patches tested by national ski teams

In the near future the Swedish cross-country and alpine ski teams will be testing a new kind of smart patch. Mid Sweden University is part of a new European research project designed to develop smart patches that can be used to improve health and athletic performance.

New research profile and one of Sweden's first 5G networks at Mid Sweden University

NIIT - Next generation Industrial IoT, is a complete new research profile within Mid Sweden University. For several years, the Research Centre STC has conducted a strong research focus on Internet of Things. Now, the next generation communication solutions develops a new research profile in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The Knowledge Foundation grants just over SEK 68 million in support of the development of both STC and and the Research Centre FSCN.

Major funding from EU for climate research and sustainability

Mid Sweden University will make major investments in research and development in green energy, climate improvement and environmental technology in the coming years. The various research projects have now been granted a total of SEK 48.5 millions SEK in support of the EU Regional Development Fund. The projects are MiLo - environmental monitoring, DRIVE and Biorem Fiber.
