WELCOME TO MID SWEDEN UNIVERSITY

Hello!
A warm welcome to Master Programme in Emotion Psychology, 120 credits and as a student at Mid Sweden University.

Welcome to our Master programme in Emotion Psychology!

My name is Francisco Esteves, and I am, together with Michaela Tjernberg, coordinator of the programme.

The study of emotions is a fascinating field, and we hope that you can learn about the main theories, and how the knowledge about our emotional processing can be applied in many different contexts.

Curriculum: Master Programme in Emotion Psychology, 120 credits

Code: SPSAA Application code: P4031
Campus: Östersund Study form: Distance education Study pace: 100%
Start: Autumn 2018

The programme is a distant learning programme with a limited number of compulsory meetings on campus (Östersund).

It will start on September 3, with two courses in parallel. These two first courses will have the final examination on November 9, here in Östersund.

Schedule
Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule www.miun.se/schemasok. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.

Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do
1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student and admitted to a campus-based program, you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University. All international students who are admitted to a distance education program, will receive their User ID by email approximately one week before course start.

This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.

Please note:
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.

2. Read through the current course syllabus

In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.

3. Register for the course

You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. You do this in the Student Portal by clicking on the link “My Studies”, and then “Register on course”. You can register no earlier than two working days before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course.

Programme information
The general plan for the first term is to have two courses during the first 10 weeks, followed by the mandatory week on campus, and then the other two courses.

So, the first two courses start on September 3 and will have the final examination on November 9 (Friday). Saturday there will be a mandatory international conference (open to other interested people). Sunday (11/11) and Monday (12/11) will be the start of the other two courses.

This means that you should plan to be here in Östersund from November 8 (evening) to November 12 (afternoon).

Student information
You will find information about our campuses, registration, accommodation, checklist for new students and routines for examination and more on our webpage www.miun.se/antagen (Swedish) or www.miun.se/admitted (English).
