New Library Management System
The Library has been undertaking a major project to change the software system it uses to manage print books, loans and reservations. The change itself will take place during weeks 28-30, but work is already underway to prepare the boot. We will regularly post information on this page about how you as a user are affected.
Change of loan period for course books
After completing a user survey among the students during the spring term of 2019, we introduce new loan periods for course literature. From Monday, June 17, all course books (14-day loans) and short-term loans will receive a loan period of 10 days. To compensate we will offer more copies of course books. 3-4 copies as basic level (often more) instead of 2.
Summer closed - no loans or reservations
During weeks 28-30, the library will be closed for summer holiday. During this time we will perform the system change, with preparations and after-work. You will not be able to search books in Primo, reserve, renew loans or borrow any books during that period. Searching and using our digital material is not affected (you can still search and download articles and e-books in Primo and our databases).
Your ongoing loans
Existing loans will be transferred to the new system with the same return date. Loans on books that are not late or have reservations will be renewed automatically in the new system up to a certain maximum limit. When the loans cannot be renewed, you will be notified.
Return of loans before the system change
If you have overdue loans at home, we will be happy if you return this before we close for summer on week 28, it facilitates our work with the system change. You will not be charged any overdue fees for books returned up until July 12th (NOTE! This only applies to returns made before our summer closing period and system change - after the summer we will charge fees for overdue loans).
