Application process
The first step in your application to study abroad is talking to the academic contact person at your department. Find out which semester and exchange places that are suitable for your programme. When you have this information, then you can complete the online application.
Application to study abroad
The application to study abroad in the spring of 2021 is closed. The next application round for studies in the autumn semester 2021 and/or spring semester 2022 will open in December/January.
For students who were already offered an exchange place; please note that Mid Sweden University may, in accordance with the Public Administration Act 37§ (1), revoke its decision to allocate an exchange place to you if the University deems it necessary as a result of the development if the COVID-10 pandemic.
Application process
The application is in Moveon online system. New users needs to register and create a new password. The password needs to include at least 8 characters and include both numbers and special characters. Upload your supporting documents before submitting the application.

1. Personal statement
Your personal statement needs to be 1-2 pages, written to Miun’s reviewers in English. Describe who you are, how the exchange period fit into and add value to your studies and/or future career. Please include the following information:
· Personal information (who you are, previous studies, and relevant experience).
· Purpose of the planned study abroad. What will you learn? How will the experience impact and add value to your studies and future career plans? Include your intended partner university and give examples of courses that you would like to take.
· How you can help inspire and motivate others to study abroad.
· Applicants to partner universities in Australia, USA, and Canada include a list with courses of interest that you find on their website. Pick at least 6 courses. If you cannot find courses available for the coming academic year, select from the current course availability. Be sure to choose from courses offered in the right semester (fall or spring).
North2North
The application deadline for North2North partners is January 15th each year. Information regarding the next application period will be published soon.
2. Transcript of records
Download your transcript in English from the student portal/Ladok showing your completed courses to date. You may also request your transcript in English from the service center. If you have completed courses at other universities too, please scan all your university transcripts into one single PDF file.
3. Certificate of language proficiency (can be submitted later)
Certificate of language proficiency is usually not required for admission to partner universities within Europe if studying in English, but may be needed if you plan to study in German, French, or Spanish. Partner universities outside of Europe may require TOEFL results or similar.
4. Other supporting documents, if applicable
Certificate of involvement in the Student Union’s international committee, Buddy programme, or employment as a student ambassador. This adds extra merit to your application.
Notification of nomination
Notification of nomination to an exchange place is sent via email approximately 2 weeks after the application deadline. Please note that you need to respond to the offer in order to keep your place. If no response within a week, your application is cancelled. Further information is sent to those who respond that they accept their offer.
