We like to think that people can make the best sustainable decision when selecting products and services. However, they don't necessarily have the tools to do so.

In this project, the students will design and develop a solution for guiding people in making sustainable decisions. How can people be supported in making sustainable decisions when selecting  products and services? What might the buyers need and what could a solution look like? The team choose their own area of interest (sport, food, fashion, technology etc.) and target group.

Project activities

In this project, the students will design and develop a solution for guiding people in making sustainable decisions. The solution will have to consider all aspects of sustainability, including environmental, socio-psychological and economical perspectives. The students will research existing data and tools, collect and combine existing data. At the end of the project, the students will need to develop an optimal solution for the guide. The project outcomes may include an information design, a model, website, an app, or a sketch of the  sustainable guide.

Study areas

This interdisciplinary project calls for research to existing data sources and tools, innovative thinking and creativity. Supervisors from different scientific fields will be available as support during the project. At the same time, each student is expected to contribute with their individual expertise to the project outcome. Group work and interaction between students from different fields are essential in order to achieve a successful project result. The students are expected to be motivated and take initiative. A dream team for the project should include 6-8 students from the following study areas:

Computer science
Communications
Environmental sciences,
Socio-psychological sciences
Business and finance
Architectural/design sciences
