Can smart cameras detect faults on a railway?

To use smart cameras to detect fault in placements of clips on a railway – that is what Irida Shallari’s research project is about. The project's goal is to create a solution that facilitates the constructions of a railway by using AI and deep learning.

Eiraj Saqib PhD-student at STC

In June 2022 Eiraj Saqib started his PhD studies at STC. He’s work will focus on analysing optimizing techniques in Neural networks and to reduce the size of CNN models.

Dr. Muhammad Waseem Ahktar – new Postdoc at STC

Dr. Muhammad Waseem Ahktar arrived in Sweden in March of 2022 to start his new position as a Postdoc at STC Research Center. He will be working with Next Generation Industrial IoT (NIIT). More specifically, beyond-5G/6G wireless technologies are suitable for industrial applications.

Sensor experts gathered in Sundsvall

For the 17th year in a row, the Sensors Applications Symposium is being arranged. This time hosted by Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall. More than 80 researchers from 20 countries participated in this year’s hybrid conference.

Congratulation Siwen An - New doctor in Electronics

Friday June 17, it was time for Siwen An to present her doctoral thesis "Spectroscopic and Microscopic X-ray Fluorescence Analysis for Environmental and Industrial Applications" which she did with a successful result.

Half-time seminar with Mehdi Akbari Saatlu

On June 10th, PhD-student Mehdi Akbari Saatlu presented his work "Advanced Material Structures for Gas Sensing" during his half-time seminar. Mehdi will now continue his work with the doctoral thesis.
