Photo contest 2015
This year 43 students worked in seven different projects for two weeks. They had a lot of fun, did social activities and a hard work. In the end they presented really good project results.
Popular social activities that the students often do
Swimming and barbequing at Sidsjön. Just a short walk from the city you find Sidsjön, a recreation area with opportunities to do different activities such as walking and canoeing. The students usually bring something to barbeque and drink and have a fun time in a nice environmen.
North Hill is also a popular recreation area not far from the city. Here you can take a walk in the forest, experience the landscape portrayal Bure and admire the stunning views of the sea and the city. There are many barbecue places and one of Sundsvall's best playgrounds. You can also meet the animals of old breeds and be inspired by cultural plantations.
Pub and city tours
The students from Mid Sweden university take you on pub and city tours some evenings so you get to know Sundsvall and the pub life we have.
Study visit
We do a study visit to Korsta where the main production of heat and electricity occurs. From Korstaverket they supply district heating to approximately 80,000 Sundsvall in homes, schools, hospitals, commercial establishments and offices. Each year, approximately 100 000 MWh of electricity and 700 000 MWh of district heating.
With district heating, it is possible to take advantage of the energy flow in the community who would otherwise go to waste. Approximately 60 percent of production in the district heating network using waste as fuel.
Excursion
An all-day event to the High Coast/ Via Ferrata, Skule national park.
Skuleskogen National Park is a monumental area. High mountains, old-growth forest and the seacoast come together here in a landscape that is without equal in Sweden. We walk through the park while loocking at the beautiful nature. At the top we take a lunchbreak to enjoy the magnificent view. A really popular activity!
